ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a surgical technique called reinforced pancreaticojejunostomy with or without a special tissue glue called Glubran2. The goal is to find out which method works best to prevent a serious complication known as pancreatic fistula that can occur after surgery for pancreatic cancer. By comparing these two techniques, the researchers hope to improve long-term health outcomes for patients undergoing surgery for pancreatic or periampullary cancers.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be adults aged 65 to 75 who are scheduled for surgery to remove cancer from the pancreas and can provide informed consent to join the trial. Unfortunately, those who are too ill for surgery, have tumors that cannot be removed, or have cancer that has spread to other parts of the body cannot take part. If you decide to participate, you can expect to receive careful monitoring during and after your surgery to evaluate the effectiveness of these techniques in preventing complications.
