ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying two different treatments for chronic venous ulcers, which are painful wounds that can occur on the legs due to poor blood flow. The researchers want to compare the effects of shock wave therapy and low-level laser therapy on these ulcers. They will look at various factors, including the patients' overall health, the size and severity of the ulcers, any pain or disabilities caused by the ulcers, and the chance of the ulcers coming back.
To participate in this trial, you would need to be between 45 and 60 years old with a body mass index (BMI) between 25 and 30. You should have a chronic venous ulcer that is either grade 2 or 3 and not infected. However, if you have certain health conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, or rheumatoid arthritis, or if you're a smoker, you may not be eligible. If you decide to join, you can expect to receive either of the two treatments and help researchers learn which is more effective for healing these types of ulcers.
