ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how the timing of a procedure called endotracheal intubation affects patients with severe breathing problems caused by COVID-19. Intubation is when a tube is placed in the airway to help patients breathe when they are struggling, and the trial aims to find out if doing this early or late makes a difference in how long patients need mechanical ventilation (a machine that helps them breathe) and their chances of survival.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be at least 18 years old, currently hospitalized, and experiencing low oxygen levels in their blood, but they should not have already been intubated. This study is open to both men and women and is currently looking for volunteers. If someone joins the trial, they will be part of a group that helps researchers understand the best approach to managing severe respiratory failure in COVID-19 patients.
