ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying which type of laryngoscope is more effective for inserting a special breathing tube called a Double Lumen Tube (DLT) in patients undergoing elective thoracic surgeries. The two types being compared are the C-MAC blade D video laryngoscope and the Macintosh laryngoscope. Researchers want to find out which method takes less time for the insertion and causes fewer changes in blood pressure and heart rate during the procedure.

To participate in this trial, patients should be between the ages of 65 and 74 and generally healthy (classified as ASA 1 or 2). Eligible patients will be those who can open their mouths well (Mallampati 1 and 2) and who are scheduled for certain types of surgeries under general anesthesia. However, some patients, like those who are pregnant or have other specific health issues, may not be able to join. Participants can expect to be assigned randomly to one of the two groups to see which laryngoscope works best for them during the surgery. This study aims to improve the safety and effectiveness of intubation in thoracic surgeries.
