ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how to better measure vitamin A levels in healthy schoolchildren in the Orodara region of Burkina Faso. Researchers will conduct two studies during the school year, one at the end of the rainy season and the other during the mango season, which is when vitamin A-rich mangoes are plentiful. By using advanced techniques, the goal is to find a more accurate way to check vitamin A status, which can help improve existing health programs that support children's nutrition.
To participate, children need to be between 7 and 12 years old, and their parent or guardian must agree to take part in the study. It's important that the family plans to stay in the area throughout the study. Children who already show signs of vitamin A deficiency, have serious illnesses, or are severely malnourished won’t be eligible to join. Participants can expect to be involved in two surveys over several months, helping researchers gather important information that could lead to better health solutions for kids in the region.
