ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on understanding a condition called Accidental Awareness During General Anesthesia (AAGA), where patients may wake up and become aware of their surroundings while under anesthesia, but are unable to move or communicate. This can be a very frightening experience and may lead to long-term psychological effects, such as nightmares or anxiety. The study aims to find out how common AAGA is in Turkey and to identify factors that may increase the risk of experiencing it, such as a patient's age, gender, or health conditions, as well as specific details about the surgery and anesthesia used.
The trial is looking for adults aged between 18 and 65 who are scheduled for elective surgeries requiring general anesthesia and are in good health (classes I-III according to the American Society of Anesthesiologists). Unfortunately, individuals who have conditions like dementia or Alzheimer's, or who can't understand the trial requirements, won't be able to participate. If you join the study, you will help researchers gather important information that could improve anesthesia safety and influence health policies in the future.
