ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating how a special dye called fluorescein, used in eye tests, might affect kidney function in patients with diabetes and advanced chronic kidney disease (CKD). Researchers want to find out if the use of this dye can lead to worsening kidney health, especially in individuals who already have serious kidney issues. By understanding the risks and how often these problems occur, the goal is to improve care for patients who have both diabetes and CKD.
To participate in this study, you need to be at least 18 years old and have either type 1 or type 2 diabetes along with chronic kidney disease at stages 3b to 5, which means your kidney function is significantly reduced. However, if you are allergic to fluorescein, currently on dialysis, or have had recent health issues like fever or dehydration, you won't be able to join the trial. If you do participate, you can expect to undergo a test with the fluorescein dye and be monitored for any effects on your kidney health. This trial is currently not recruiting participants, but it aims to gather important information to help manage the health of patients with these conditions better.
