ClinConnect Summary

The "Bump the Lump" trial is a study designed to improve treatment for a condition called globus pharyngeus, which is the feeling of having a lump in the throat without any obvious cause. The goal of this trial is to create a clear treatment plan using speech and language therapy to help patients manage this uncomfortable sensation. The study is set to begin at the Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Center for Voice and Swallowing Disorders, but they are not recruiting participants just yet.

To be eligible for this study, you must be an adult aged 18 or older who has reported experiencing globus pharyngeus. However, if you have a diagnosed swallowing disorder, you won't be able to participate. If you join the trial, you can expect to follow a specific therapy plan aimed at reducing your symptoms. This study aims to understand how effective this treatment can be for people dealing with this issue.
