ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating a new treatment approach for people experiencing problems with their jaw joint, known as temporomandibular joint disorders (TMJ). Specifically, the study is comparing two types of light therapy—one applied inside the mouth and the other applied from outside—to see which is more effective in reducing pain and discomfort caused by these jaw issues.
To participate in the trial, individuals should be experiencing painful clicking in the jaw or pain in a specific jaw muscle, and they should have most of their natural teeth aligned properly. However, people with certain conditions, like severe joint damage, recent injuries, or specific systemic diseases, won’t be eligible to join. Those selected for the trial will receive either internal or external light therapy and will be monitored for how well the treatment helps manage their symptoms. This study is currently recruiting participants of all genders, aged between 18 and 65.
