ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how challenging walking tasks can affect the brain and help recovery in stroke patients. Researchers want to see if activities like pedal walking and walking with your eyes covered can stimulate brain activity, which may aid in recovery. Stroke patients will be monitored while they perform three different walking tasks for 60 seconds each: walking on a flat surface, walking on pedals, and walking with their eyes closed.
To participate, individuals must be between 65 and 74 years old and have had their first stroke confirmed by medical imaging. They should be able to walk independently but may have some difficulty with their walking pattern. However, people with certain brain injuries, vision problems, or severe memory issues cannot join. This study is currently recruiting participants, and taking part will help researchers understand how the brain responds to more challenging walking tasks, potentially leading to better rehabilitation strategies for stroke survivors.
