ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the differences between two ways of having a preoperative assessment before anesthesia: one done in person (face-to-face) and the other done via video call. The goal is to see which method is safer and which one patients prefer. The trial is currently recruiting participants, specifically adults over 18 years old who are undergoing treatment for ear, nose, throat (ENT), or temporomandibular joint (TMJ) issues.
To participate, individuals must be able to provide informed consent after thinking about it for at least 24 hours. However, those who may struggle with video technology due to severe mental challenges, like dementia, will not be included and will receive the traditional in-person assessment instead. If you decide to join the trial, you will have the option to do your preoperative assessment through a video call or in person, depending on which group you are placed in. This study will help improve how preoperative assessments are conducted in the future, making them more convenient for patients.
