ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of a computer-based training program called CogniFit, designed to help improve important thinking skills in primary school students in Hong Kong. Specifically, the trial is looking at how well this program can boost children's executive functions, which include skills like working memory (keeping information in mind), attention (focusing on tasks), and inhibitory control (the ability to pause and think before acting). The children participating in the study will be divided into three groups: one group will receive the CogniFit training, another will get a different training called Cogmed, and the last group will wait before starting any training.
To be eligible for this trial, children must be between the ages of 6 and 12 and currently enrolled in grades 1 to 6 at mainstream primary schools in Hong Kong. Participants will take part in 24 sessions of training over 8 weeks, with each session lasting about 15-20 minutes. Before the training starts, right after it ends, and two months later, children will complete some fun cognitive tests at their schools to see how their skills have improved. Parents will also fill out questionnaires about their children's behavior at home and school. This study will help us understand how effective the CogniFit program is in enhancing children's cognitive abilities.
