ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how Virtual Reality (VR) can help patients feel less pain and anxiety during a procedure called Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD). ESD is a type of minimally invasive surgery used to remove certain growths from the digestive tract, and it usually requires medication to help patients relax or manage pain. However, these medications can sometimes cause side effects. By using VR, which immerses patients in a calming, virtual world, the study hopes to see if it can help reduce the need for these medications while making the procedure more comfortable.
To participate in this trial, you need to be at least 18 years old and able to give your consent. You must also be fit enough to use VR. Unfortunately, if you have conditions like epilepsy or are pregnant, or if you have difficulty seeing, you won't be able to join. If you do participate, you can expect to wear VR goggles during your ESD procedure, which may help distract you from any discomfort. This study aims to find out if VR can make the experience better for patients, and it's currently not yet recruiting participants.
