ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how well ultrasound can detect costochondral joint separation, which is an injury that can happen in the chest area, especially after a hard hit to the body, like in car accidents or falls. Researchers will compare the results from the ultrasound with those from a CT scan, a type of imaging test, to see how accurately ultrasound can identify this kind of injury. The goal is to improve the way doctors diagnose these injuries while reducing the amount of radiation patients are exposed to from CT scans.
To participate in this trial, patients need to be between 18 and 80 years old and have experienced blunt trauma to the chest with a suspicion of costochondral joint separation. Those who cannot have a CT scan, are pregnant, or have certain medical conditions that might interfere with the ultrasound cannot take part. If eligible, participants can expect to undergo both an ultrasound and a CT scan, and they will be asked to give their consent before starting the process. This study is being conducted at Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine, and it is not yet open for recruitment.
