ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how innovative programs called WeJoy and WeHop can help improve health outcomes for primary school children in Hong Kong, particularly focusing on issues like childhood obesity, sleep problems, and physical activity levels. The study will involve about 408 children from grades 3 to 5. Some of the children will participate in the new programs, while others will continue with regular activities. Researchers will measure changes in depressive symptoms, physical activity, and sleep quality before and after the programs using simple questionnaires designed for kids.
To participate in this study, children need to be in grades 3 to 5 and have permission from their parents or guardians. Unfortunately, children in grade 1 are not eligible because they are still adapting to school, and those in grade 6 are excluded as they are preparing for important exams. The trial is not recruiting participants just yet, but once it starts, it will provide valuable insights into how school-based activities can benefit children's mental and physical health after the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
