ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how microporous tape can help improve the appearance of scars that develop after surgery, specifically focusing on hypertrophic scars, which are raised and often discolored. The study aims to see if using this special tape can make these scars less noticeable and improve their overall characteristics.
To participate in this trial, you would need to be between the ages of 20 and 45 and have hypertrophic scars that are between 5 and 7 square centimeters in size, which means they are of a specific size and type. Unfortunately, some individuals may not qualify, such as those with infections in their surgical wounds, certain health conditions like uncontrolled diabetes or high blood pressure, or a history of forming keloids (which are a different type of raised scar). If you meet the criteria and decide to join, you can expect to use the microporous tape as part of your treatment for several weeks, helping researchers understand its effectiveness in scar management.
