ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "Alcohol Related Risk Reduction in Veterans," aims to find out how effective a short phone-based program is in helping veterans reduce their alcohol use. The goal is to create a simple and accessible way for veterans to receive support for their drinking habits, potentially making it easier for them to manage their alcohol consumption.
To participate in this trial, you need to be a veteran who speaks English, currently uses alcohol, and is receiving treatment through the Iowa City VA Health Care System. Unfortunately, if you have a history of severe alcohol withdrawal, significant alcohol dependence, or do not have a regular phone, you may not be eligible. If you join, you can expect to receive counseling over the phone, which is designed to help you understand and reduce your drinking. This study is not yet recruiting participants, but it's an important step toward improving support for veterans dealing with alcohol use.
