ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to manage sedation and pain relief for patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) who need to be on a breathing machine, also known as mechanical ventilation. The researchers want to see if a special device called the Conox® system, which uses brainwave data to monitor sedation levels, can help doctors provide the right amount of sedation and pain relief tailored to each patient’s needs. This is important because too much sedation can lead to longer hospital stays and additional health risks.
To participate in this study, patients must be between 18 and 90 years old, have been admitted to the ICU for less than 24 hours, and expect to be on mechanical ventilation for more than 48 hours while already receiving sedation. If someone joins the study, they can expect to be closely monitored with this new device to help ensure they get the appropriate level of sedation. The trial is currently looking for participants, and everyone, regardless of gender, can be considered as long as they meet the eligibility criteria.
