ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how certain physical traits, like height, weight, and sex, might help predict the size of grafts used in surgery for repairing torn anterior cruciate ligaments (ACLs). The researchers want to see if there is a connection between these physical measurements and the size of the tendons that can be used as grafts in ACL surgery, specifically looking at the semitendinosus and peroneus longus tendons.

If you are between 18 and 45 years old and have been diagnosed with an ACL tear, you might be eligible to participate. To join the study, you must have a confirmed ACL rupture through an MRI and be able to have the tendons harvested from the same leg that has the injury. However, if you have had previous surgery on the knee or ankle of that leg, or if you have any congenital defects or multiple ligament injuries, you cannot participate. Those who join the trial can expect to contribute to important research that could help improve the outcomes of ACL surgeries for future patients.
