ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring how spending more time with family members can affect the recovery of patients in the intensive care unit (ICU). The researchers want to find out if having relatives around can help patients need less medication to relax, experience less confusion (known as delirium), spend fewer days on a ventilator, and shorten their overall stay in the ICU.
To participate in this study, patients need to be at least 18 years old and have at least one family member who can be actively involved in their care while in the ICU. However, patients with certain conditions, like severe brain injuries or those who are expected to have a very low chance of survival, will not be eligible. If you or a loved one are considering joining this trial, you can expect to be part of research that aims to improve patient care by understanding the importance of family support in the ICU setting.
