ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring how different levels of a breathing support technique called Positive End-Expiratory Pressure (PEEP) can affect the pressure inside the skull during brain surgery. High levels of PEEP may help improve breathing but could also increase pressure in the head, which is not ideal for patients who are already at risk for increased intracranial pressure. The study aims to find the "Best PEEP" level that keeps the lungs healthy without causing problems in the brain.
To participate in this trial, patients should be between 18 and 80 years old and scheduled for elective brain surgery, with a health status classified as ASA I-III, which indicates they are generally healthy or have mild health concerns. However, patients with severe health issues, existing high intracranial pressure, or those needing emergency surgery will not be included. Participants can expect careful monitoring during their surgery to determine the best breathing support to ensure their safety and comfort.
