ClinConnect Summary
The DYNAMICS-LYNCH trial is studying a new way to screen for colorectal cancer in patients with Lynch syndrome, a genetic condition that increases the risk of developing this type of cancer. The researchers want to see if testing stool samples for specific DNA changes (called DNA methylation) can be a more effective and less invasive alternative to traditional colonoscopy screening. This trial will include about 400 patients diagnosed with Lynch syndrome, who will provide stool samples for testing and also undergo colonoscopy to compare the results.
To participate, individuals must have been diagnosed with Lynch syndrome, be willing to provide stool samples for testing, and agree to follow-up screenings. Those who cannot provide a stool sample, have other related hereditary conditions, or are currently undergoing treatment for colorectal cancer will not be eligible. Participants can expect to take part in three rounds of testing and will help researchers develop better screening methods to detect colorectal cancer early, ultimately aiming to reduce cancer rates among people with Lynch syndrome.
