ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effectiveness of two treatments for nausea and vomiting during pregnancy, a common issue known as nausea gravidarum or hyperemesis gravidarum. The trial will compare the use of ginger tablets, a natural remedy, with Doxylamine succinate, a standard medication used to treat these symptoms. The goal is to see which treatment better helps reduce nausea and vomiting in pregnant women.
To participate, women must be over 18 years old, between 5 to 11 weeks pregnant, and experiencing nausea and vomiting. They should also be attending the outpatient department and have a confirmed pregnancy through an ultrasound. Participants will receive either ginger or Doxylamine for one week, and their symptoms will be assessed before and after treatment to see how much they improve. It's important to note that women with certain medical conditions or who are hospitalized for severe nausea will not be eligible for this trial. If you're considering joining, you'll need to provide consent to participate.
