ClinConnect Summary
This study is testing two different graft materials used with immediate dental implants after pulling out a front upper tooth that has a thin outer jaw bone. One group uses the patient’s own tooth material (autogenous tooth bone graft) and the other uses donor bone material (allogeneic bone graft). Participants are randomly assigned to one graft type, and both participants and those assessing the results don’t know which graft was used. The researchers will look at how the bone in front of the implant changes over about six months, specifically the thickness of the labial bone and any bone loss around the implant, with additional checks on bone density and implant stability.
If you might be eligible: adults aged 18 to 55 who need extraction of a non-restorable front upper tooth and immediate implant placement, with a thin labial bone plate, good oral hygiene, and no active infection or certain conditions. Exclusions include prior radiation therapy or other systemic diseases that could affect healing. If enrolled, you would have the tooth removed and an implant placed right away, with the gap filled by the assigned graft. You’ll have follow-up visits over six months, including imaging to measure bone, tests of implant stability, and checks to determine if the implant remains healthy. The trial is at the Faculty of Dentistry, Tanta University, in Egypt, and plans to enroll about 24 participants.
