ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how providing near vision glasses, often called reading glasses, can help improve the lives of people in Western Kenya who have trouble seeing things up close due to aging. The researchers want to understand if these glasses can make it easier for individuals to use solar products and mobile phones, which they may have purchased through loans. By improving their vision, the study hopes to see if people can repay these loans more easily, increase their income, and enhance their overall quality of life.
To be eligible for this trial, participants should be 40 years or older, have difficulty seeing up close that can be corrected with glasses, and live in the counties of Busia, Siaya, Vihiga, or Kakamega. They should also have purchased a solar product at least three months ago and have at least six months remaining on their repayment plan. Importantly, they should not already own a pair of near vision glasses. If you qualify and choose to participate, you'll receive a pair of glasses to see if it helps improve your daily activities and financial situation.
