ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new way to help college students who may be drinking too much alcohol. Researchers want to see if a telehealth version of a program called Brief Alcohol Screening and Intervention for College Students (BASICS) can effectively support students in reducing their drinking. This program is typically used on college campuses to help students who engage in heavy drinking, and now they want to see if it works well when delivered online.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be between 18 and 26 years old, fluent in English, and registered as students at one of the two participating colleges. They should have reliable internet access and a webcam for video calls. Additionally, they should have experienced binge drinking (which means having a certain number of drinks in one sitting) at least once in the last month and should be interested in reducing their alcohol consumption. If you or someone you know fits this description, they may have the chance to participate in this important study, which aims to help students make healthier choices regarding alcohol use. The trial is not yet recruiting, but it offers a valuable opportunity for college students seeking support.
