ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how video-based training can help caregivers better understand and prevent pressure injuries in patients who are at high risk. Pressure injuries, also known as bedsores, can develop when patients are unable to move for long periods. The researchers want to see if showing caregivers instructional videos improves their knowledge, attitudes, and actions regarding patient care compared to traditional verbal training or no special training at all.
To participate in this study, you need to be at least 18 years old, able to communicate and read, and have access to a device like a tablet or smartphone to watch videos. Caregivers will be randomly assigned to one of three groups: one that watches training videos, one that receives verbal training, and a control group that follows regular care protocols. Participants will be asked to watch the videos multiple times over four weeks and share their feedback. The trial will take place from September 2023 to September 2025 at Gaziantep City Hospital, and a total of 270 caregivers will be involved. This research is important because it aims to enhance caregivers' skills, which could ultimately lead to better care for patients at risk of developing pressure injuries.
