ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on creating new tools to help children and teenagers who have experienced suicidal thoughts or behaviors. The goal is to develop a self-help app and methods for professionals to better engage with young people about these difficult feelings. The project recognizes that discussing suicidal thoughts can actually help reduce the risk of suicide, and it aims to incorporate digital technology to support young people in managing their emotions and coping with challenges.
To participate, young individuals aged 10 to 18 who speak Dutch and have had suicidal thoughts in the past can join. They can take part in group sessions, where they will discuss and provide feedback on different versions of the app being developed. Each group session lasts up to 1.5 hours, and participants can attend as many as 10 sessions. If someone prefers a more personal approach, individual sessions can also be arranged. The sessions will be led by researchers and may also include professionals who specialize in creating these helpful tools. This is a chance for young people to share their experiences and directly contribute to resources aimed at improving mental health for themselves and their peers.
