ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new way to measure how deeply endometriosis has affected the bowel in women who are scheduled for surgery. Specifically, researchers are using a special type of ultrasound called transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) during surgery to see how deep the endometriosis goes into the bowel. This is important because it can help doctors plan the surgery better for patients who have been diagnosed with deep infiltrative endometriosis that involves the bowel.
To participate in this study, women between the ages of 18 to 55 who have been diagnosed with bowel endometriosis and need surgery to remove part of their bowel can join. However, those who have other bowel diseases or do not need surgery will not be included. Participants can expect to have the TRUS performed during their surgery, and the findings may help improve care for others with similar conditions in the future. This trial is currently recruiting participants, aiming to gather important information about the effectiveness of this ultrasound technique in surgical planning.
