ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on understanding how systemic sclerosis, a condition that can cause thickening and hardening of the skin, affects hand function and overall quality of life for patients. Researchers will use questionnaires to gather information about patients' experiences and will conduct detailed hand ultrasound and electrophysiology tests to identify the main factors that contribute to difficulties with hand movement.
To participate in the study, individuals must be adults over 18 years old who have been diagnosed with systemic sclerosis according to specific guidelines. Unfortunately, people with other autoimmune diseases, those taking certain medications that could affect nerve function, or individuals with conditions like diabetes or kidney failure will not be eligible. While the study is not yet recruiting participants, those who join can expect to contribute to important research that may improve understanding and treatment of hand dysfunction in systemic sclerosis patients.
