ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of two different types of exercises to help relieve painful menstrual cramps, known as primary dysmenorrhea. The researchers want to find out if a specific technique called myokinetic release, which focuses on relaxing certain muscle areas in the abdomen and lower back, is more effective than Kegel exercises, which are often recommended for strengthening pelvic muscles. The goal is to see if either of these exercises can improve the quality of life for young women who experience these painful cramps.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be females aged 17 to 25 who have been diagnosed with dysmenorrhea and have specific muscle tightness in their abdomen and lower back. They should have regular menstrual cycles that last between 3 to 7 days. Those who are using birth control for menstrual issues, have certain gynecological conditions, or are taking pain medication will not be able to participate. If you join the study, you can expect to engage in exercise sessions and help researchers understand how these activities affect menstrual pain and overall well-being.
