ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying a new 3D imaging software called Momentum Spine™ to see if it can help monitor and manage idiopathic scoliosis in children aged 8 to 14 years. Idiopathic scoliosis is a condition that causes a sideways curve in the spine, affecting about 1-3% of children. Currently, doctors often use X-rays every few months to check for changes, which means kids are exposed to radiation over time. The trial aims to find out if Momentum Spine™ can safely allow kids to take pictures of their spine at home using their smartphones, reducing the need for frequent X-rays while still keeping track of any changes in their condition.

To participate in the study, children must be between 8 and 14 years old and have a confirmed diagnosis of idiopathic scoliosis, but they should not have had any spinal surgeries. Participants will be divided into two groups: one will continue with regular care, including X-rays, while the other will use the Momentum Spine™ app to capture images of their torso at home every two months. The study will also look at how well the software works, how satisfied families are with their care, and if it makes it easier for families, especially those living far from clinics, to manage their child’s scoliosis. This trial could change how scoliosis is treated, making it safer and more convenient for families.
