ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring the use of music therapy to help reduce pain for patients undergoing a specific type of surgery called Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS). The goal is to see if listening to music of their choice can lower pain levels in patients right after their surgery, while they are in the recovery area. Researchers will ask patients about their pain right after they arrive in recovery and then provide music through headphones for 30 minutes, checking pain levels again afterward. It's important to note that patients will still receive their usual pain medications during this time.
To participate in this study, patients need to be at least 18 years old and have a diagnosis of a lung mass that requires VATS. However, individuals with conditions like dementia or chronic pain will not be included. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it promises an innovative approach to pain management that could improve recovery experiences for many patients.
