ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "Idiopathic Generalized Epilepsy Cognitive and Emotional Profile," is focused on understanding how idiopathic generalized epilepsy (IGE) affects the thinking, emotions, and overall quality of life of teenagers aged 11 to 18. The researchers want to learn about the challenges these young people face, such as emotional issues or difficulties in decision-making, and how these problems impact their daily lives. To do this, participants and their caregivers will fill out questionnaires that help gather important information about their experiences and emotions.
If your child is between 11 and 18 years old and has been diagnosed with idiopathic generalized epilepsy, they may be eligible to participate. However, children who are younger than 11 or older than 18, those with different types of epilepsy, or those with intellectual disabilities cannot join the study. Participants can expect to share their experiences through questionnaires, which will help researchers identify factors that influence their emotional and cognitive well-being. This study aims to improve our understanding of epilepsy and ultimately enhance the support and resources available for affected adolescents and their families.
