ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new program called BreeZe, designed to help burn survivors manage their recovery and improve their quality of life. The BreeZe program teaches burn survivors skills to set and achieve personal health goals while also focusing on their treatment needs. It uses positive techniques like goal setting and supportive conversations to motivate participants and boost their confidence in managing their care. The study will take place at three burn centers in the Netherlands, with participants being enrolled until July 2025.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be at least 18 years old, have stayed in a burn center for more than 24 hours, and understand Dutch. Those with serious mental health issues or cognitive difficulties won't be included. Throughout the trial, participants can expect to complete questionnaires at various points after their discharge, allowing researchers to track how well the BreeZe program works in improving their self-management skills and overall recovery. The study aims to not only assess the effectiveness of BreeZe but also the methods used to implement it, ensuring that burn survivors receive the best support possible.
