ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how people with psychotic disorders, like schizophrenia, think and process information, especially when it comes to the effort they put into tasks. Researchers want to understand how motivation and psychological factors, such as mood and anxiety, affect cognitive performance (how well someone thinks and remembers). By comparing individuals with psychotic disorders to those without any mental health issues, the study aims to shed light on whether cognitive problems in these patients are mainly due to their mental health condition or their motivation to engage in tasks.
To participate in this study, individuals should be between 18 and 60 years old. Those with a diagnosis of schizophrenia or other psychotic disorders can join the study, while individuals without any psychiatric disorders will be part of the non-clinical group. Participants will complete memory tasks while their heart rate and other measures are monitored to see how much effort they are putting in. This research is important as it could help improve understanding of cognitive challenges in psychotic disorders and lead to better support and treatments for those affected.
