ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the experiences of women who have undergone surgery for breast cancer, specifically those who have had a mastectomy and tissue expander placement. The focus is on comparing the recovery and satisfaction of patients who stay at the Mayo Clinic Florida's innovative "Care Hotel" after their surgery to those who stay in a traditional hospital or go home right after. The Care Hotel provides a comfortable space for patients to receive nursing care and monitoring in a more relaxed environment, which may help improve their overall recovery experience.
To be eligible for this trial, participants need to be women aged 18 and older who have had a mastectomy followed by tissue expander reconstruction. They can either stay at the Care Hotel, go home, or be admitted to the hospital for observation. If you decide to participate, you can expect to be monitored closely as you recover, and you'll share your experiences to help improve care for future patients. This study aims to understand how this new approach to recovery impacts patient outcomes and satisfaction, which could lead to better options for women undergoing similar surgeries.
