ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of a procedure called Catheter Ablation (CA) on patients who have just been diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation (AF) and have also experienced a stroke. Atrial Fibrillation is a heart condition that can lead to strokes, so the researchers want to see if treating AF early with CA can improve the neurological outcomes for patients. They plan to enroll 100 participants aged 18 and older who are currently having an acute stroke and have new-onset AF. Participants must also be able to undergo heart monitoring to track their AF.
If you or someone you know is eligible and chooses to participate, you will receive heart monitoring and the CA procedure, if appropriate. It’s important to note that participants must be able to provide consent and have a modified Rankin score (mRS) of less than 6, indicating they have mild to moderate disability. This trial is not yet recruiting, but it aims to gather valuable information that could help improve treatment options for patients with AF and stroke in the future.
