ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how certain types of waves detected by a special device called a photoplethysmograph relate to septic shock in adults. Septic shock is a serious condition that occurs when an infection leads to dangerously low blood pressure and reduced blood flow to the organs. The researchers want to see if these waves can provide important information about how well blood is flowing in the body, which can be measured using other indicators like capillary refill time, serum lactate levels, and mottling score.
To participate in this study, you need to be at least 18 years old and diagnosed with septic shock. You should also have a body temperature above 36°C and be able to lie flat comfortably. However, if you have other types of shock, a history of certain heart problems, chronic liver disease, or conditions that might affect the readings from the device, you may not be eligible. If you decide to join, you will be asked to sign a consent form. This study is currently looking for participants, and your involvement could help improve understanding and treatment of septic shock in the future.
