ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at whether paraffin wax can help improve movement and function for people with scars from burns, especially when these scars are over joints like the shoulder, elbow, or knee. The study will combine the use of paraffin wax with regular exercise therapy to see if it makes a difference in how well patients can move their joints. Currently, there aren’t many options available to help improve movement for those with burn scars, so this research could provide valuable information for future treatments.
To be eligible for the trial, participants must be at least 18 years old and have a burn scar that affects a joint. They should also be enrolled in a rehabilitation program where paraffin wax can be used alongside their exercise therapy. However, individuals who cannot give informed consent, have injuries other than burns, are pregnant, or are prisoners will not be able to participate. The trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to better understand how paraffin wax might help those with burn scars in the future.
