ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how a special labor guide can help women feel more in control during labor. In this study, some women will receive an evidence-based guide when they arrive at the hospital for labor induction, while others will receive the usual in-person counseling about their labor options. The goal is to see if having this guide makes a difference in how empowered and informed women feel during the labor process.
To participate in this trial, women must be first-time mothers (nulliparous) who are at least 36 weeks pregnant with a single baby and are planning to have their labor induced for medical reasons or by choice. They should also be able to speak English and be willing to sign a consent form. Unfortunately, women with certain complications, such as multiple pregnancies or major fetal issues, or those who are minors, will not be eligible to join. If you participate, you can expect to either receive the labor guide or the standard counseling to help prepare for your labor experience at OHSU. This study is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to empower women during a crucial time in their lives.
