ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new wearable device designed to help monitor hydration levels in older adults. Dehydration can cause serious health issues, especially in people over 55, and this trial aims to see if the device can accurately measure how hydrated someone is at home and encourage them to drink more fluids. By using this device, the researchers hope to find out if continuous feedback about hydration can lead to better health outcomes and fewer emergency department visits for dehydration-related problems.
To participate, individuals must be 55 years or older, have visited the emergency department with suspected dehydration, and be able to speak English. Participants will wear the device, keep track of how much they drink at home, and return for a check-up after about a week. This trial is important because it could lead to a better understanding of how to manage hydration in older adults and help with the development of this wearable technology for future use.
