ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how different ways of giving a medication called dexamethasone affect pain and recovery in children having hip surgery. Dexamethasone can be given either through an intravenous (IV) line or directly near the nerves in the hip area (perineural). The main goal is to see which method helps reduce pain after surgery and improves overall healing. Researchers will measure things like pain levels at different times after surgery and look at markers in the blood that indicate inflammation and recovery.
To be eligible for this trial, children should be scheduled for hip surgery and weigh more than 5 kg. However, those with infections at the surgery site, bleeding disorders, weakened immune systems, or those who have used steroids regularly will not be included. Participants can expect to be part of a study that aims to find better ways to manage pain and improve recovery after hip surgery, all while being closely monitored for safety and comfort.
