ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a program called Incredible Years® "Helping Preschool Children with Autism" (IY-HPCA), which is designed to help teachers support preschool children with autism and other developmental challenges. The main goal of the study is to see how well this program works in real classrooms by measuring how engaged and satisfied teachers are with the training. About 40 teachers from mainstream schools will be invited to participate, and they will be divided into two groups—one that receives the training and another that does not. The training involves six weekly sessions led by experts in child development.
To be eligible for the study, teachers must work in mainstream preschools near Hospital Sant Joan de Déu in Barcelona and be willing to take part in the program. During the training, teachers will learn new strategies to help their students and share their experiences afterward through interviews. This research aims to gather valuable information that could lead to broader trials in the future, ultimately benefiting more children with autism by improving teacher support in classrooms.
