ClinConnect Summary
This study at Hacettepe University in Ankara, Turkey, is an observational, prospective effort to test how accurately people can determine the color of the front teeth. Researchers will compare four methods for shade selection: two traditional color scales (Vita Classical and Vita 3D Master), the button technique (placing tiny composite color dots on the tooth, taking digital photos, and picking enamel and dentin shades on a computer), and a spectrophotometer device that measures color. The main goal is to see how consistently different evaluators agree when using each method, and to identify the best method for matching tooth color in cosmetic dentistry.
About 32 healthy adults aged 18–40 are being invited to participate. Eligible participants should have healthy upper front teeth with no decay, restorations, intrinsic discoloration, or other issues that could affect shade. Pregnant or lactating individuals are excluded. The study involves color measurements with all four methods and is expected to last about one month. Enrollment started in January 2025, with an estimated completion in March 2025.
