ClinConnect Summary
The 'Nurture and Play' study is a pilot trial designed to help pregnant women and their partners in Denmark who are dealing with anxiety and depression. The main goal is to see if a program called Nurture and Play (NnP) is helpful and easy to participate in. In this study, 20 couples will be randomly chosen to either join the NnP sessions or continue with their usual care. The NnP program includes 11 group sessions led by a midwife and a health nurse, focusing on support and connection from around the 26th week of pregnancy until the baby is about seven months old.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be pregnant and have a history of anxiety or depression. They should also be referred for labor at Slagelse Hospital. Unfortunately, those under 18, expecting multiple babies, or who have serious mental health issues like schizophrenia, won't be able to participate. During the study, participants will complete online questionnaires and may take part in interviews to share their experiences. This information will help researchers understand how effective the program is and how well it works for both parents.
