ClinConnect Summary
This study is looking at whether a peer-mentoring program, supported by a mobile app, can help nursing students do better in school, feel more capable, and adjust to university life. It’s a randomized trial at Istanbul Beykent University with about 70 students (roughly 35 in the mentor-plus-app group and 35 in a comparison group). Third- and fourth-year students will serve as mentors for first- and second-year students. The researchers will follow participants for up to about 12 months and will measure academic performance (like grades and exams), self-efficacy (confidence in handling tasks), and satisfaction with the learning experience.
Who can join and what to expect: You need to be 18 or older, enrolled in the Nursing Department, continuing your education, have internet access, and own a smartphone. People in other programs, those who change departments, or who want to leave the study won’t be eligible. If invited, you’ll be randomly assigned to either receive the peer-mentoring program with the app or to a no-intervention group. You’ll complete surveys and may have your academic performance reviewed for research purposes. The study design follows ethical guidelines, with no current results yet, and it is currently enrolling by invitation, with results expected after late 2025.
