ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "Adipokines in PCOS," is studying levels of certain substances in the body called adipokines, specifically leptin, resistin, and omentin-1. These substances are important for understanding conditions related to weight and metabolism. The researchers want to compare these levels in three groups of women: those with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) who do not have insulin resistance, those with PCOS who do have insulin resistance, and women who do not have PCOS at all.
Women between the ages of 18 and 45 may be eligible to participate, but some individuals may not qualify if they have had surgery to remove an ovary, or if they have certain medical conditions like diabetes or other metabolic, autoimmune, or autoinflammatory diseases. Participants in the study will help researchers learn more about how these substances differ among the groups, which could lead to better understanding and treatment options for PCOS in the future. The trial is currently recruiting participants, and it’s a great opportunity to contribute to important medical research.
