ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called the HANDY program, is designed to help people living with hand osteoarthritis, a condition that causes pain and stiffness in the hands. The study aims to test a new version of the HANDY program to see how well it works and whether it's practical to use in real life. Researchers are looking at how easy it is to recruit participants, keep them involved, and whether the tools used to assess their progress are suitable. The trial is taking place in collaboration with two areas, Lyngby-Taarbæk and Ballerup, and is currently recruiting participants.
To be eligible for the trial, you need to be over 18 years old and have been diagnosed with hand osteoarthritis by a doctor. You should also be experiencing difficulties with daily activities due to your condition. However, if you have serious vision or hearing issues, cognitive difficulties, or if your daily activity challenges are mainly due to a recent illness, you may not qualify for this study. Participants can expect to engage in group sessions focused on occupational therapy, which helps improve daily living skills. This study is an important step in planning a larger trial to better understand and support people with hand osteoarthritis.
