ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the safety and effectiveness of a medication called moxidectin in treating blepharitis, which is an inflammation of the eyelids often caused by tiny pests called Demodex mites that can infest the eyelashes. The researchers want to see if moxidectin tablets can help reduce these mites and improve symptoms for people suffering from this condition.
To participate in the study, you should be between the ages of 65 and 74 and currently experiencing active blepharitis with specific signs like collarettes, which are crusty formations around the eyelashes. However, if you have other serious eye diseases, you won't be able to join. Participants in the trial will be randomly assigned to receive either the moxidectin tablets or a placebo (a pill with no active ingredients) and will be closely monitored throughout the study. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and it's a great opportunity to contribute to research that could help improve treatments for blepharitis.
